Emilie Birraux studied at Rosella Hightower's in Cannes and at Codarts in Rotterdam. In 2000, she starts working with Club Guy and Roni (A green Old Man, Five Shorts, and The Language of Walls) and tours with them until 2007, taking part in numerous international festivals such as Jacob's Pillow in the USA. She also works as a dancer with a.o Maryse delente, Liat Waysbort, Jens Van Daele (Ira), Gato Bizar, Klaus Jurgens (Asa Nisi Masa) and Arthur Rosenfeld (Wild Thing)… Since 2009, she is busy with her own choreographic research. In 2013, invited for a choreographic residency in Argentina, she makes Kikas for 11 women. Her last piece Joy is part of festival Voor de Leuwen in Rotterdam in 2015. Emilie is a certificated teacher (french''Diplome d'Etat'') and teaches various publics: kids, amateurs, and professionals (Danceworks/AndreGingras, CCN Grenoble Jean-Claude Galotta).
